6/19-ugh, im apparently allergic to lettuce & i just ate a big ol salad, at work :-/ this is awkward.
6/19-sitting here on the porch, with my coffee & my laptop, watching the dogs do doggie things & I'm not sure what they did but a mocking bird is stalking them and has swooped Duke's butt twice. I didn't see him eat any baby birds so I think she's racial profiling. errr, species profiling
6/17-we had some stains on our mattress (kids...need i say more) so today i sprayed it down with hydrogen peroxide & a heavy dusting of baking soda & let it sit while we (& by we I do mean Danny) worked in the yard. When I vacuumed the mattress this afternoon it looks dang near brand spanking new. so...there's a little nifty fyi for y'all. wish i had before & after pics.
6/12-Keiser got wounded today and I learned a few things. #1 hydrogen peroxide gets blood out of carpet. #2 after cleaning the wound, I applied neosporin and a cotton wrap and then wrapped the ear close to his head with an ace wrap while it stops bleeding. Dogs hate head wraps. Poor Keiser. It was a horrible hello to coming home this evening:-/
6/8-is wearing my swim suit cover up today. Is not wearing my swim suit. Is not going swimming. im such a rebel!
6/5-Is done with bangs, they make my forehead sweaty.

Of Late....
The boys have been at my moms house. Turns out I'm very boring without them and very lonely. I understand now why some moms continue having kids until their body says "no more". I'm 31 and I have a 9 and 11 yr old. By the time I'm 40 they'll be adults and have their own lives.
But for now, turns out they miss me. The stay was planned for a month at my moms house while we moved and since I'm working part time this summer. Which is entirely too long and had me doubting my parenting abilities, and if I was ruining my family by leaving my children for an entire month. Well, my oldest called last night, he's coming home, the sooner the better and I said "ok" and he passed the phone to my mom and went and packed his bag up. And my heart is happy. My youngest, who I thought would be the first to crack, was frustrated that since his brother is coming home he has to come home also. Little booger!!
In the meantime, I have checked off every item our loan process manager has tasked me with, she has provided new lists with brand spanking new requirements about weekly (grrr) and those have all been completed as well. And I'm thinking, there can't possibly be anything else for us to do so at this point we may be just sitting back and waiting for that July 3rd closing. Everything looks great for an on time closing.
FYI:
I do not think "for sale by owner" is a reasonable option for pretty much anybody. The house we are buying is FSBO, however their buddies with a realtor who has bee amazing throughout this process. We couldn't have done this without him
A GOOD, no, a GREAT realtor will make your home buying experience. When a great realtor calls those inspectors, those title companies, those banks..etc..those people jump through hoops to accommodate!! This realtor will also be on task and keep every step moving smoothly so that closing will happen on time. Sometimes things happen, but a great realtor will give you the best chance at that on time closing.
A knowledgeable insurance agency will get your homeowners insurance needs met at the lowest possible cost. Try a local agent that brokers insurance, they can quote you from multiple companies & that means you get the cheapest possible insurance.
Any time you need to have a service done (inspections and such) get a referral from local family, friends, realtors (not necessarily the realtor working your sale) when possible. Pin It

EXERCISE: JOGGING
I jogged just under one mile today. It's been at least a month since my last jog and then I got sick, I stayed sick, I couldn't shake my allergies, my blahs, my don't wannas. This evening I finally sucked it up and went. I didn't push far or hard. I did just under a mile, I didn't time it. So here's to starting up...again. Because we all know that dieting is NOT an option!

MY DAY VIA FACEBOOK: I'M A DORK
Oh SAMs demo ladies, you got me again!! With the sausage, the pecan/cranberry chicken salad, the crackers, the hummus and the angel food cake with fresh berries. Yum yum! And it wouldn't have been fair if I didn't bring it all home to share with my boys, so i did ;)
while mimosa's are traditionally a breakfast beverage, they taste equally delicious in the evening. ya know, FYI, if you didn't know & stuff
perhaps i should lay off the mimosa's. i went to refill & i swear to you i thought i had a carton of "pimp juice" in my fridge!! i was all excited. it's no pulp orange juice..i dunno, perhaps i was heavy handed with the champagne in my previous glass. Pin It

POOR LITTLE PUNAM--TAYLOR'S BOO-BOO NOSE
| His nose is so swollen he sounds like he has a sinus infection. His eyes are swollen like he's a boxer. And the brusing is starting to set in. My poor baby. |
GIGGLES OF BEING A PARENT & PET OWNER: ONE DAY TWO GIGGLES
1. We're at Trent's after baseball season dinner and Danny & I are sitting at the "kids" table chit chatting with the players. I tell ya, you can learn a lot about your kid this way ;) and we find out our little man is a little pimp juice!! Apparently, he has "millions" of girl friends that follow him everywhere. I dunno, when Trent's buddy told us my eyes about bugged out, "say huh!?" oh no! That's it, chili bowl hair cut & I will no longer remind Trent to maintain good hygiene. Lawdie! What I will do with this child I have no idea!
2. Laying in bed, complaining because I waited to long to eat and then over ate a late dinner. UGH! I hear, what I swear is someone "chiggle, chiggle, chiggle" giggling the door knob. Oh man, we're fixing to have to deal with an intruder!!!!! First Danny is hollering "boys!" that gets on my nerves..anyway..and then he gets up to investigate, he's so brave!! He pulls the po-po slide around the wall & quick light switch flip to quickly assess the situation in the living room and he finds the suspect!! It's a 5" tall, 7lb female, up past her bed time and in the beef jerky foil pack, ripping it open and helping herself to a late night treat. Phwew, we survived the scary home invasion of 0'12. It was intense for awhile there. "Get-chore butt back in bed Lilly!" Pin It

THE BUSTED NOSE OF aut-eleventy-twelve baseball season
He's one tough baller!! He was shocked seeing the blood pooling in his hands and running through his fingers. I was a wreck, having no clue how to help. I didn't even think to tell my poor baby, let that dang blood hit the ground, stop trying to catch it. Fortunately, the coaches wife is a nurse. It's not broken & he's gonna be just fine. But this is, thus far, the worst injury we've had to deal with and boy it was scary! I need first aid classes!!
Trents ball season has ended in first place. I'm so disgusted with his coaches I can't even celebrate. I'm glad he gets the satisfaction of being part of a winning team but I'm more glad his team is just done.
Taylor's (in the picture) team beat their rivals tonight and are now soundly in first place. They still have a few more games but they will finish first. I have been enjoying watching his games, the coach & families have been a joy the past few months. I will miss this group.
Tomorrow we'll get Taylor back outside & work out his glove, try to make sure he doesn't settle into fear of the ball. Get him "back in the saddle"
Not that I'd have been disappointed if he'd freaked & cried, no I'd have understood, but I was so impressed & proud with how tough & how well he handled this incident. I know it has to hurt like the dickens!

ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE 5-20-12
At 7:30pm we headed outside to watch the Annular Solar Eclipse. Danny couldn't remember if this was the eclipse that you used a hole in the box to look through, so we tried it. I don't think this was the event for the hole in the box trick, oh well, live and learn. It was about 7:38 when we first saw the moon covering up the bottom right corner of the sun. It looked like it just took a bite out of it down there. Soon after that our sun dropped below the tree/house line and we were unable to see the full eclipse. I bet it was beautiful.
Taylor tried holding leaves up and I think we all made the mistake of looking at the sun with our naked eyes. I for sure did and it took forever to get the spots to go away. HA, again, live & learn!

UPDATE JUST FOR THE SAKE OF AN UPDATE
As far as the house goes, we've completed a successful inspection & WDI inspection. YAY! Apparently I hired a pervert inspector (ergh!) but hopefully life & this closing will go forward despite his attempts at wooing all female he has come in contact with since I hired him to inspect this house. The nerve of some pervs. Anyway.
I have gathered every single piece of paperwork asked of us, copied, mailed and faxed as needed. I feel like I may have signed away our lives, our freedom, our children and I'm not sure what else filling out all this paperwork. It's intimidating for sure!
Moving forward!
Danny's mom broke her ankle and has to have surgery. Right in the middle of her own move! They moved in to their house and that night the a/c went out. It's fixed, but boy talk about stress on top of stress and now this. Tonight we're going to help them move a few more things and I hope to help her arrange some stuff, if she'll allow the help. She's very independent and used to doing things her way, alone. So we'll see.
And, I got the little yorki adopted out to my mom. Oh, she is loving the little doll! Having the puppy here reminded me just how much responsibility pups are. It's like having babies, or toddlers and the constant care they require. Exhausting!! But rewarding :) But glad the yorki has a home with my mom, they're gonna love each other so much!!
And now I've just heard I may be taking in another unwanted :( So sad. This is a deaf puppy. I'm not sure I can handle that kind of challenge with so much going on. I know I will do whatever I have to do though, as I heard if the dog doesn't get "rescued" it's getting the bullet. I just can't handle that. This is a cur, I believe. My mom is already having a fit, NO MORE DOGS. I have 3. It's not the number of dogs we have, so much as the limitations having many dogs places on you. Everything we do must be dog friendly if it will take more than several hours at a whack in a day. So, no big vacations, not too many camping trips because it's a hassle, no overnighters with family, except mom, she's cool with herds of dogs. But even she is threatening to draw the line with one more addition. Yea right mom, I don't sweat your idle threats <3
I'm wondering, when did I turn into the dog rescuer?? Is this how it happens, someone finds out you're a sap and brings you every lost cause they can find???
School and baseball are wrapping up and I am SO ready!! Well, Taylor will still be continuing with his lessons since I was never able to do any placement for his homeschool curriculum we bought after yanking him out of public school here. The boys have plans to spend a week or so at my moms house the beginning of June. Danny is really looking forward to "a break", I think what he meant was alone time, because let's be real, he doesn't make the meals, get the kids up & ready for school, make lunches, tote kids to and fro, etc etc. Yep, he meant alone time. And I, I will enjoy being selfish and only having to worry about myself & what I need or want, and by mid day one I will be lonely & bored and ready for my little men to be home again. Well, truth be told, I'll miss the heck out of them but I think I am prepared for some selfish time, and if they're with momma they're in very capable, loving, spoiling hands. I still feel guilty at knowing I'm looking forward to time alone...I guess I'll manage, somehow ;)
Of late, I've had a couple of people tell me they wish they were more like me, because I don't take no crap, or things along the lines of basically I'm not super nice or patient. And all this time I thought I was a super nice push over. I've felt guilty about that and then I talked to a good friend (my cousins wife) and she says "we are nice, but no, we don't take crap from folks but we don't dish it out either so we shouldn't have to take it." I felt like a big breath just wooshed out of me. She's right. It's ok to put people in their place when they are rude to you and try to take advantage of you.
I'm still working at the rock yard. I guess, as far as jobs go, that's a pretty cool job. I don't "have" to work, and that's always a nice thing to know. But I'm working for Danny's aunt at her business. I've learned to work a fork lift and a whole stinkin lot about rocks! HA! Really, being around the people has been good for me and really brought my personality back to life. I guess it had begun to lay dormant since I was so rarely around people other than my kids & husband, I only knew how to react in the home life. I mean, I was around people, but just didn't have to deal with, or socialize with a lot of various individuals. It's been nice. And I guess this has been part of the experience of me finding out I'm no push over also ;)
Working here has been where I went from trying to do it all for people (including hand loading thousands of pounds of rocks) to realizing sometimes folks need to do things for themselves, or at least help out dad-gum-it. On the up side, I'm definitely a lot stronger than when I started a few months back. I also get a kick out of the looks on peoples faces when they come in to find myself & another female working the stone yard, driving the fork lift, loading pallets & loose materials into truck beds or trailers and handling large, upwards of 100lbs rocks by hand or scooping up boulders with the forks. A lot of people are shocked, I dunno, it's just cool to me to show off what two ol' gals can do :) Pin It

MY ATTEMPT AT PHOTOGRAPHING THE SUPER MOON

It was BEA-Utiful!! My photography skills (more lack there of) just couldn't get a picture that did the super moon justice. But here are the several pictures I took in my efforts to capture a beautiful night and a beautiful moon.
Gnats!!! $#%&!!!
An epic plaque of gnats has taken over my kitchen!! It's frustrating, it's annoying, it's gross!! And I am so over it!! And from what I hear, I'm not the only one. No, this year seems to be a very bad year for gnats.
Here's an all natural recipe to help kill the little boogers off!! I originally found this tip on Pinterest I can not find the original post :-/
In a shallow dish I mixed about 1/4-1/2 cup apple cider vinegar and a GENEROUS squeeze of lemon scented dish soap and it doesn't take long for the little boogers to flock to the stinky feet smelling mixture!! Muahaha!! It's a good start to getting rid of every single one!!

DIY: Haircuts at Home
Because I am so cheap and going to the cheap hair salons ends up in regret (well, that's been my experience). I cut my own hair. I started cutting my hair about a year and a half ago. The only way I can do this is by keeping a very simple style. I don't have an eye for detail or straight lines.
I part my hair down the middle and lay each half over my shoulder. Then I take my scissors and nip off about a bit to the left & the same amount on the right side. When I had layers growing out that needed a trim I grabbed the hair at the crown of my hair, pulled straight up and nipped off a bit there. Brush the hair back, use a mirror to double check an even line. Always works for me. And saves me $20-50, the average price I was paying for a cut.
I recently cut bangs. I googled "bangs" pinned a board full of bangs I liked, noticed they were all the same or very similar, printed that page out & pulled the amount of hair I wanted down. Double checking for thickness, evenness at the sides and a nice straight line meeting up at the longer hair. I pulled the hair together towards my nose and snipped it right at lower eye lid lever (remember, the bangs will spring up when let go). Because I held the hair in a bunch at the nose & clipped the bangs gradually get a bit more length at the outside edges, which I feel looks very nice. The bangs bounce up right at eyebrow level for me. I'll be honest, I was so nervous about cutting bangs but I've been very happy with my decision & the outcome of my home clip.
Another big money saver, I cover my own grey ;) I just pick a color close to my natural to keep it low maintenance. I like my natural hair color though so this is no sacrifice.

I'd take out a very large life insurance policy (if possible) that would set my husband and kids up for a comfortable life. Every where we went I'd hold hands with my husband. I'd make sure that I told them how much I loved them, & give them lots of hugs & as many sugars as they'd tollerate. *oh, I'm getting emotional just at the thought*
- Why do you think your most favorite film touches you so deeply? my favorite films are happy, emotional, a little humorous, dramas (fried green tomatos, steel magnolias, hope floats, the notebook...etc etc) the "real life" emotions they portray, often remind me of me or my family
- If you could be a fictional character from a movie or a novel, who would you want to be? Why? hmmm, I can't think of anyone particular at this time....but I know it would be historical, early America, maybe Pocahontas
- What are you really bad at? Music, anything musical. I'm tone deaf and that's probably all you had to hear to know I am bad in anything musical. I also failed middle school band....
- Who would you like to forgive and forget? I'm pretty good at forgiveness, as I always hope that those that I am offended will forgive me. Sometimes I find myself dealing with old bitterness again & I just forgive again!! I pray about it & get peace about it again. Later it may come back, I'll forgive again
- Do you often hear your inner voice? What does it usually tell you? Sure, I talk to myself ALL the time. My inner voice is pretty positive but sometimes it's a workaholic :)
- When was the last time you cried without anyone seeing you? And why? While writing the answer to question 28. I always want to be here for my family while they have to struggle here on Earth.
- What do you want people you meet for the first time to think about you? I want them to think I'm friendly
- What’s your most striking physical attribute? Do you like it? I guess my almost black hair...even though it's usually a nappy mess. I get more positive comments on that than anything else
- If you had the opportunity to go back in time and make a change, would you still want to have the same parents? I would LOVE to have my same parents & step-parents. They made me who I am and I may not be perfect but I'm pretty happy with me :)
- If you could go back in time and change things, how would you alter the last ten years? I wouldn't worry about getting my college degree, or I would take class by class as we could afford for me to pay as I go. I hate having my massive student loan :(
- If you could get rid of one of your responsibilities today, what would that be? ohhh tough one! Maybe making our lunches at 5am....or dishes (but I could have the boys do that & I don't)....it's a tough pick!!
- What is the biggest lie you tell yourself? well I don't know, I probably think I'm better looking than I actually am LOL
- What do you think is missing in your life? my homestead & more animals
- What do you think is the biggest injustice that was ever done to you? that would be me in my younger years letting myself go completely wild after I grew up in church & knew so much better. I had a lot of demons I guess I just didn't want to deal with. I'd been much better off dealing with the demons
- What type of person angers you the most? Selfish people, stuck up people, people who think they are better than anyone else....it's just annoying
- Who never fails to make you feel good about yourself? my momma. No matter how rotten I've been she can always find a good way to "spin" what I do. She thinks I'm perfect <3
- If you could start all over again, what would you want to study? I still don't know!! Probably something that would help out small farmers with their land & animals
- Which type of intelligence do you wish you had: kinetic, visual, interpersonal, linguistic or mathematical? Seriously, I don't know what all that means. I'm guessing linguistic is language & I'd LOVE to know Spanish, French, German, or any foreign language but I'm too lazy to study & work towards this goal on a regular basis
- What is your biggest pet peeve? Rudeness, it wouldn't kill folks to say Hi & acknowledge folks in a general way. Saying thank you, appreciating what others do for you. I hate when I see my friends or family get taken advantage of by rude selfish people
- What was the one opportunity you always believed you’ve missed out on? One opportunity I'm not sad I missed out on would be having a career. I never dreamed I'd be a homemaker or enjoy it but I do LOVE it.
- What do you like about yourself the most? I can laugh at myself and if I'm wrong I'll apologize
- What do you regret the most? running away when I was in the 9th grade :(
- What is the most hurtful thing you’ve ever witnessed? Why did it affect you? On tv- an old man got hit by a car & all the people that saw, no one went to help him. That broke my heart. I don't guess it affected me but it was the worst thing I've ever seen.
- What would you like most to be acknowledged for in your life? I would like people to say, "people wanted the same happiness & peace that came from her faith", something like that. I'm not very eloquent with words.
- What is the first thought that usually crosses your mind the second you open your eyes in the morning? Is the coffee ready?? *I set it on delay brew the night before*
- What is that thing about yourself you’re sick and tired of? Being sick & dad-gum-tired!! I'm so sick of my allergies but I just can't take a ton of pills all the time, I'm not comfortable with that
- Who really depends on you? Why? My kids. Because their kids & they're supposed to be able to depend on their Momma for so many things, food, support, love...
- What was the main factor that played a role in your biggest mistake? me not forgiving people that hurt me. keeping emotions bottled up & not sharing my pain. You gotta get that yucky stuff out!! Keeping it bottled up turns you nasty from the inside out.
- What was the main factor that played a role in your biggest success? God, he has provided for me & my family all the time!! I have two healthy boys, I am in love with my husband & he loves me too. My family is my biggest success.
- What childhood memory sizzles your heart? Running Track. Something about running was very healing for me.
- What was the most frustrating period in your creative life? I'm not creative, so in that aspect, it's all been frustrating LOL I'd love to be creative but what I can do is follow directions VERY well to re-create ;)
- What is your future self calling for? Creating a homestead, a comfortable home, and teaching my boys old fashioned skills (I'll have to teach myself those also)
- Do you love yourself? Very Much
- If you were your own coach, how would you guide yourself? I'd say, don't rush, be patient, PRAY!! Read your bible girl!! I'd point out who I could trust & who I should avoid. I'd encourage Yoga & jogging, healthy eating & organizing more productive days. And I'd end each effort with encouraging words :)
Do you think it’s easy to answer such questions about yourself?
